RAWALPINDI (TNI) – Director General (DG) of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has said that 80 percent of terrorist incidents took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is because terrorists are provided with a favorable political environment in KP.
Briefing senior journalists on the operations of the security forces in 2025, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that successful operations were carried out against terrorism last year. Last year, 75,175 intelligence-based operations were conducted and 5,400 incidents of terrorism occurred, while 1,235 law enforcement officers and civilians were martyred.
He said that the state is committed to counter-terrorism, has taken important steps to counter-terrorism, the state has a clear stance against terrorism, the world has appreciated Pakistan’s steps against terrorism, the state’s stance against terrorism is clear, the state is committed to eliminating terrorism, Khawarij has no connection with Islam.

He said that last year, law enforcement agencies conducted 75,175 intelligence-based operations, 14,658 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 58,778 in Balochistan, and 1,739 operations were conducted in other parts of the country last year.
Last year, there were 27 suicide attacks, 80% of terrorist attacks occurred in KP, and a politically favorable environment is provided for terrorism in KP.
DG ISPR said that terrorism started to rise in 2021, 193 terrorists were killed in 2021, change came to Afghanistan in 2021, Doha Agreement was reached, the Afghan group made 3 promises in Doha, the Afghan group promised that terrorism would be eliminated from Afghan soil, the Afghan group promised that women’s education would be ensured in Afghanistan.

He said that the stronghold of the Khawarij and the sedition of India is in Afghanistan, all terrorist organizations are in Afghanistan, they are being nurtured. In October last year, there was tension on the Pak-Afghan border, Pakistan repeatedly explained to Afghanistan that it should take care of the Khawarij terrorists, but when that did not happen, Afghan posts were targeted within hours.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that a comprehensive coverage of the incidents of terrorism that took place last year will be given. He said that all political parties are in agreement on the National Action Plan, that the implementation of the National Action Plan is necessary to eliminate terrorism, and that Allah’s command regarding the Khawarij is to kill them wherever they are found.
The DG ISPR said that the US has left behind $7.2 billion in modern weapons in Afghanistan, the Afghan Taliban is developing the TTP in its own organizational style, the Afghan Taliban are sponsoring terrorism to run the war economy, terrorism in Pakistan is sponsored by India, the Taliban are establishing their rule there and their settlement is beginning here.
